1 1/2 lb. ground lamb
1/2 lb. Hamburg
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 small can tomatoe paste
Chopped fresh parsley with stems
Garlic ( 3 or 4 cloves crushed) or 4 tsps.
Ground red pepper 3/4 tsp
3 chopped fresh red peppers (chop small)
Salt & pepper
3 or 4 pkgs. of medium size Syrian bread slit in halves (moon shape)
Mix all ingredients together.
Put mixture on pita bread that has been split in 2 circles.
Put mixture about 1/2" from edge of pita bread.
Spray cooking sheet with Pam or line with tin foil then spray.
Bake in middle & lower rack for about 15 min or until it looks cooked.
Freeze - Place slice of wax paper between each lamajoun & put about 6 in each plastic bag & freeze.
