Description
¼ c. shortening (1/2 butter)
2 tbsp. cake flour
1/8 tsp. salt
¼ c. orange juice
1 ½ cups sifted confectioners' sugar
½ tsp. grated orange peel
Melt the shortening in saucepan. Remove from heat and blend in the flour and salt. Slowly stir in the orange juice. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil one minute (if mixture curdles, do not be alarmed). Remove from heat. Stir in the confectioners' sugar. Set saucepan in a bowl of cold water. Beat until consistency to spread. Stir in grated orange peel.
