Description
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons salt
1 yeast cake
9 cups flour
Mix all dry ingredients together in lg. pan. Eggs & milk should be room temperature. Heat slightly marj. with 1 heaping tbsp crisco. Dissolve yeast in 1 cup tepid water.
Make hole in flour mixture & knead all together for 20 minutes. Adding flour as you need to get dough off hands. Finish with a little oil on hands to clean & over the top of dough, so you will not have a hard crust. Cover with wax paper & dish towel & place in warm oven overnight.
400° oven. Make braids & let rest 1 hr. Bake 1st tray on bottom until it starts to color. Then on top shelve & bake another pan until golden brown. Place on wire racks to cool.
