1 lb. pecan or walnut halves
1/4 lb. butter or safflower oil
2 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves.
Brown halves in butter. Drain on paper towel.
Salt. Fold cooled nuts into beaten egg whites.
Add sugar and spices. Stir until nuts are coated.
Spread on cookie sheet. Bake in 325° oven
30 minutes. Stir several times.
