Crust
Mix together thorough:
¾ c soft shortening part butter 1 c brown sugar
Sift together and stir in:
1 ¾ c flour ½ tsp soda 1 tsp salt
Stir in:
1 ½ c rolled oats
Mix thoroughly; Place ½ crust mixture in greased and floured 13x9 ablong pan; Press and flatten with hoods to cover bottom pan. Spread with cooled peeling. Cover with remaining crumb mixture patting lightly. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly browned about 25 to 30 min About 2 ½ doz 1 ½ x 2 bars Cut into bars while warm and remove from pans.
