Hayastantsi’s Biscuit (Armenian from Armenia)
Description
Powdered milk10 cups of water
2-1/2 cups milk (2 kg milk)
1 1/2 kg butter
4 tsp baking powder flour as much as it takes
For filler:
1 cup walnuts
1 cup sugar and little cinnamon and clove
How to prepare
1. Boil milk, add 1 tsp of lemon salt so that the milk curdles, mix until cool, drain into a sieve.
2. Put butter in a deep dish in room temperature, add the drained milk and mix them until even.
3. Add to this the flour and baking powder. Mix until it is a medium dough.
4. Shape them in little balls and put it in the freezer.
5. Take the balls out of freezer, add the walnut on both sides (like picture #2). Then fold it like picture # 3. Rub egg over. Cut in 2 inch pieces (like in picture #4) . Arrange them in greased pan and bake until light brown.
