Description
Makes 5 or 6
2 cups flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup milk
Sift all dry ingredients together
Cut in butter (until like coarse meal)
Stir in milk (soft dough)
Divide in halves, knead a little, pat out to 1/4 inch thickness, cut crosswise in fours.
Bake 400°, 12 to 14 min.
