Original Family Portrait of Barsegh Kalousdian

Framed picture of Barsegh Kalousdian, older brother to Yessayi Kalousdian. This photo is possibly a portrait of his first family. Barsegh preceded his younger brother Yessaryi's arrival to the USA and lived in Whitinsville for a short time. After returning to the Ottoman Empire, he returned to the USA with Yessayi to establish roots here. Many of Barsegh's original family did not survive the Hamidian Massacres. Barsegh left the USA and settled in Marseille, France where he began a new family. His daughter, Jean Kalousdian Simonian, eventually arrived to the USA and lived for a period with Siranoush and Yessayi Kalousdian on Willow Street.
