Sour Cream Date Walnut Cookies

Description

½ cup shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp soda
1 cup chopped nuts
1 ½ cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 ¾ cups sifted flour
½ tsp salt
1 cup chopped dates

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients, dates and walnuts. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 min. When cool ice the cookies with butter powdered sugar icing.
