Description
Evidently, there were Armenian booksellers in Whitinsville during the late 1800's and early 1900's. It is unknown if they sold their books in shops or through the mail by placing advertisements in various Armenian newspapers or other local publications. However, many of them did have inked stamps made and stamped their books with their names and company names. Most often, these inked stamps appeared on the title page. Shown are a few examples of Gdavjian Kradan from Whitinsville, MA. One other possible seller, Hagop Hoogoian, Whitinsville, MA. Both show post office box addresses.Subject
