Description
1½ cups shortening
2 cups sugar
½ cups molasses
2 eggs
4 cups flour
½ tsp salt
4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
Preheat oven to 350°
Cream sugar & shortening.
Add eggs & molasses & beat well.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Roll into small balls & roll in sugar (if too soft, refrigerate)
Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for approximately 12 min at 350° until light brown or top gets puffy
Cool before removing from pan.
Makes about 8 dozen.
